Cromer High School is an all-ability comprehensive school, serving the town of Cromer and surrounding area. Students will be admitted to the School at the age of 11 without reference to ability or aptitude. Where applications for admission exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied in the order set out below to decide which students to admit:

1. Students resident in Cromer and the villages traditionally served by Cromer High School; Gresham, Northrepps, Overstrand, Bessingham, East Beckham, Sustead, Metton, Sidestrand, East Runton, Felbrigg, Aylmerton and Roughton.

2. Students being taught in the Primary Schools which serve Cromer and the above villages.

3. Students who have a brother or sister currently at the School.

Any other applications received will be treated on a first come first served basis. Where a student is admitted from outside the areas served by school transport, parents must accept the responsibility and the cost of transportation to and from school.

When the published admissions number for any year has been reached, further applications will be considered by the Admissions Committee of the Governors. When it is felt that further admissions will prejudice the effective use of the School’s resources, then all further applications will be refused. Parents will, of course, be informed of their right to appeal to the Appeals Committee if their application is refused.
